My Single Virtue
This year I have been exposed to my single virtue. Before, I didn’t even realize that what I was doing could help someone. I have been Volunteering at the Silver Beach Carousel for two years, and when I first started I was just doing it for me. But this year, after I have become more and more active in Key Club, I have realized that I am actually doing community service. Volunteering had always been fun for me, but I never realized that my enjoyment could actually affected others. My single virtue is charity, or the pursuit of giving. Now, my life focuses on giving back to my community, by whatever means possible. I have Co-chaired a Blood Drive raising five hundred dollars for Key Club, Co-Chaired a Senior Prom for Elderly Citizens, and have participated in numerous service projects. I don’t just volunteer for others though -- I must admit -- it makes me better as well. That is why my single virtue is charity, because not only does it help others, but it helps me too.
